Climate Resilience Awards for Business 2026

The Climate Resilience Awards for Business 2026 recognize exemplary business leadership and innovation in climate adaptation and resilience. The initiative aims to make resilience actions visible, measurable, and scalable by spotlighting projects delivering credible outcomes.

Programme Overview

Launched by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP), the awards highlight businesses strengthening resilience to climate change across infrastructure, water stewardship, agriculture, food systems, and people-focused initiatives. Following a successful inaugural edition in 2025, the 2026 awards further support a growing community committed to accelerating climate resilience action worldwide.

Funding and Benefits

These awards do not provide direct funding. Instead, winners gain recognition, credibility, and increased visibility to business leaders, investors, policymakers, and other stakeholders. Awardees showcase measurable resilience impacts, benchmark their progress against global peers, join a network of resilience practitioners, and contribute lessons learned to inspire others. Finalists’ case studies are published on platforms like the Business Action Bank and The Climate Drive.

Eligibility

Applications are open globally to business organizations of all sizes, sectors, and geographies. Eligible applicants include organizations implementing resilience or adaptation projects within their operations or value chains, as well as providers offering products, services, or advisory solutions that enable their clients to build climate resilience. SMEs and large corporates compete in separate categories to ensure fair evaluation.

Business Stage and Sectors

Projects in pilot, scaling, or operational stages can apply. Award categories include Building Climate-Proof Infrastructure, Promoting Water Stewardship, Safeguarding Agriculture & Food Systems, and Protecting People First. Applicable sectors encompass infrastructure, agriculture, food systems, water management, technology, financial services, and climate resilience solutions broadly.

Geography

Open to organizations worldwide across all geographic locations.

Deadline

Applications open on 23 June 2026 and close on 30 September 2026.

How to Apply

Applicants submit detailed project case studies demonstrating implementation and measurable impact. Each project is submitted under a single award category. SMEs and corporates submit separately. Applications undergo eligibility screening and are assessed on impact, credibility, and potential by an expert jury. Supporting documentary evidence is required. There is no entry fee.

Important Notes

No direct cash prize is awarded; this is a recognition award. Projects may be pilot, scaling, or operational but must demonstrate implementation and impact. Multiple distinct projects may be submitted separately. Finalists’ case studies are published publicly. One project cannot be submitted to multiple categories. The awards encompass both climate adaptation and broader resilience-building actions.
