Tell Me About The Program:
The MEST AI Startup Program 2026 is a fully funded, immersive 12-month training and incubation experience designed to develop Africa’s next generation of AI startup founders. Hosted by MEST Africa, this program equips selected participants with hands-on technical, business, and leadership training to launch globally competitive AI-driven businesses.
The program includes:
- A 7-month in-person AI startup training (Jan – July 2026)
- A 4-month business incubation for top-performing teams (Sept – Dec 2026)
Participants will engage with global mentors, build MVPs, pitch to investors, and transition into viable AI companies.

How are Applicants Selected?
The selection process includes:
- Eligibility screening
- Online application form + personal statement video
- Assessments and reflection video
- In-person group challenge and interviews in Ghana, Nigeria, or Senegal
- Contract offers to successful candidates in October 2025

West African countries only
(Main interview locations: Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal)

Accra, Ghana (In-person residency required)
How Many Awards?
Not specified, but a select number of participants will be admitted into the program and additional startups will be chosen for incubation.
