The SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE), in partnership with the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET) and the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), invites applications for the Second Cohort of the Capacity-Building Programme for Women Energy Entrepreneurs. The deadline for applications is 3 April 2026.
This 6-month programme aims to empower women entrepreneurs in the energy sector across the SADC region. The initiative focuses on advancing women-led businesses through business soft-skills training, mentorship, and networking. Importantly, the programme does not provide technical training or direct capital funding. However, it facilitates connections between participants and potential funders through matchmaking.
Women entrepreneurs working in solar thermal, energy efficiency, and productive use of energy will receive preferential consideration. Applicants must be able to commit to approximately 8 hours per month of online participation.

About this Short Course
This capacity-building programme lasts for 6 months and is delivered entirely online. It is designed specifically for women who own or lead energy-related businesses in SADC countries. The training focuses on business soft-skills, such as leadership, management, and enterprise growth. Technical energy technology training is not included.
The programme connects participants with expert mentors and industry role models. As a result, women entrepreneurs gain access to valuable networks and potential enterprise financing opportunities.
