The Tholoana Enterprise Programme supports South African entrepreneurs to become successful and resilient business owners through skills development, mentorship, access to markets, seed funding, and practical business tools. Participants embark on a structured 18-month journey that includes self-assessment, strategic planning, and growth support, with wrap-around assistance including mental health support.

Who can Apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens
  • Be full-time business owners involved in daily operations (not employed elsewhere)
  • Have high ethical standards and entrepreneurial drive
  • Be resilient, self-motivated, and open to growth and change
  • Have relevant skills and experience in their line of business
  • Show leadership potential and commitment to job creation
  • Commit to full participation in the 18-month programme

How are Participants Selected?
Through a competitive application process. Around 60 entrepreneurs are selected each year, based on potential, commitment, and impact.

Which Countries Are Eligible?
South Africa only.

Where will the Training Take Place?
Hybrid model (business support, mentorship, and training sessions tailored to entrepreneurs across South Africa, with a focus on rural and underrepresented areas).

How Many Participants?
Approximately 60 new entrepreneurs are selected annually.
